HVAC COIL CLEANING

A clean HVAC system is an efficient HVAC system. The the cooling coils on your A/C condensers become clogged with dirt and debris it limits the airflow across the coils and can severely limit the ability to for your A/C system to cool your home. Even if your A/C seems to still be cooling adequately, dirty coils cause your system to have to work harder to achieve the same results and increased the wear and tear on your system, shortening it’s life, and unnecessarily inflates your cooling bill. Because of this, we recommend that our customers have their coils cleaned at least once every two or three years.

Many home owners know that the condenser coils on their outside A/C unit should be cleaned and will take the DIY approach and spray the unit with a garden hose in an attempt to clean the coils. While this may have some limited beneficial effects, it’s much like trying to wash your clothes with just plain water. Just like with your clothes, it’s important to clean your condenser coils with a detergent in order to truly clean them. And, as with your laundry, not just any detergent will do. For cleaning condenser coils it is important to use a detergent designed for that purpose that will not leave a residue and is safe for the components of your HVAC system, while also being safe for your family, your pets, and the environment. That’s why, at Air Solutions Air Conditioning & Heating, we use and effective, environmentally safe professional grade cleaner that has a pleasant fragrance to clean our customers condenser coils.

Benefits of periodic A/C Condenser Coil Cleaning
  • Helps Prevent Leaks
  • Prevents and Stops Corrosion
  • Extends the Life of the Condenser Fan Motor
  • Maximizes Airflow and Efficiency
  • Helps to Eliminate Odors
  • Reduces Indoor Allergies

HVAC AIR DUCT REPAIR, MAINTENANCE, & INSTALLATION

This creates gaps which allow air to cool air to flow out of the ducts into your attack instead of your living areas. If you find that your AC system is not cooling or heating as well as it used to or if your electric or gas bills have gone sky-high it might be your ductwork. CLOTHES DRYER VENT CLEANING

It’s one of those things most people don’t even think about, but a clogged clothes dryer vent could be a disaster waiting to happen. Lint builds up in the dryer exhaust pipe over time and can eventually clog it entirely. If this happens, heat from the dryer exhaust can ignite the lint causing a catastrophic fire.

According to FEMA:

  • 2,900 home clothes dryer fires are reported each year and cause an estimated 5 deaths, 100 injuries, and $35 million in property loss.
  • The leading cause of home clothes dryer fires is failure to clean them (34 percent).
  • More home clothes dryer fires occur in the fall and winter months, peaking in January.

If you’ve never had you dryer exhaust cleaned or you’ve noticed that your clothes are taking longer to dry have your Clothes Dryer Exhaust Vent inspected as soon as possible.

REFRIGERANT LEAK DETECTION

Your HVAC system contains a refrigerant, usually Freon. If the refrigerant is lost, due to a leak, your AC System will not cool efficiently and eventually will stop cooling all together. Running your Air Conditioner when it is low on refrigerant can cause the indoor coils to ice up, which can damage your compressor and other system components. In addition, Freon is classified as an ozone-depleting chemical which detrimental to the environment.

If your AC system is not cooling like it used to, contact us to have one of our technicians perform a refrigerant leak test. Or, better yet, have us perform a seasonal check to make sure that AC system is running at peak efficiency.
